💰 Firing Pricing

There are six firing spots available per firing. Each spot is $325 and gets you 3 cubic feet of space, roughly split between the soda and wood kilns. You can purchase multiple spots for a discounted rate of $300 per spot. All participants are required to take a shift on the wood kiln. Full payment is due to reserve your spot; your work will not be loaded without payment.

🏺 Clay Selection

Because we fire the wood kiln to cone 10-11 and the soda kiln cone 10-12, your best options are Continental Clay Wood Fire Porcelain or B-Clay Stoneware

The next best option is Laguna Wood Fire B-Mix

In a pinch you can take 3 parts cone 10 B-Mix or any cone 10 porcelain and 1 part Long Beach, or for something even darker, like Death Valley. Wedge it up well and go for it.

Pots need to be bisque fired to cone 06 before the firing, do not glaze them beforehand, you will use our liner glazes for your work. If you're shipping in your work, please contact me about glaze options.

3 cubic foot of of space is included in the firing—typically your pots are divided equally between the two kilns. The best way to figure your three cubic feet is to mark a 14"x28" area and load it like a glaze kiln 13" high, i.e. no tight stacking like you would in a bisque kiln.
